Fishing Kayak User Feedback

I bought a Viking Nemo purely to fish from and I hardly plan a weekend without it now. Light weight, smooth paddling and superb stability makes a day of paddling an absolute pleasure. Also being a keen lure fisho I immediately noticed the stealthy advantage on approach. Anything from Bass fishing in tight, fast flowing creeks to off-shore fishing and everything in-between, have been achieved in comfort and ease with my Viking and I couldn't be more pleased.

Yesterday I purchased my first ever kayak from the showroom at Warana. I have not had a chance to try it yet but one thing I would like to comment on is the way we were treated. I spoke to Nancy and she could not have been any more helpful. Her knowledge of the products and the history of the company is unbelievable. I purchased a Viking Espri with the fish kit and I required a certain colour which wasn't in the shop at the time. Nancy phoned through to the factory and organised for one to be ready within 2 hours. I picked up the kayak from the factory and both the guys that I spoke to there were also very helpful and really couldn't do any more for us. I would like to say thank you to Viking Kayaks. Keep up the fantastic work and I will let you know how the kayak goes.

My son, 2 sons in law and myself all have Viking Tempos (1 single and 3 doubles) All have electric motors and have provided us with many hours of inter family fishing competition. Recently on Lake Macquarie NSW where we travelled about 8 to 10 kms each fishing day in winds up to 30 knots. The 4 kayaks performed very well and the fishing has been excellent.

I have just purchased a Nemo 2 plus 1 from Alex and could not fault it. Alex at Chermside is a credit to customer service and most helpful. I recommend to all.

The two seater fishing kayak is brilliant for getting into difficult fishing spots and so stable, the best fishing craft I have ever bought.

Our Tempo Fisherman II double kayak purchase for hobby kayaking (with engine) was just the best decision we have ever made. Amid large boats and their waves, the Fisherman II Kayak is very stable and as beginners we have learned to trust its stability and we go in to their waves with confidence. We feel the view from river level and the ability to go in to secluded and tranquil waters where the big boats can't go, surpasses any boat. We are not sporty people but gave it a go, the flexibility of the Fisherman II and engine option makes Kayaking a dream weekend hobby regardless of your experience. We fully recommend for a couple or family.

I recently bought a Profish 45 Viking Kayak and I have nothing but praise for it. On every outing I have gone to different places and done some serious milage, paddling between 4 and 5 hours testing it out trolling. Quality fish have been caught every time. Manouvering the 4.5 metres of yak is easy with the rudder system and stability is fantastic. I look forward to testing it out in some swell in the open ocean hopefully hooking into a few Mack,s . The 5 rod holders are very handy and storage is more than enough. Fantastic set up !

Fantastic set up !

Purchased two Kayaks, one for me & my wife. We both use our Kayaks for getting fit & enjoying the beautiful Noosa river. Our Vikings are really well designed, balanced & a pleasure to cruise around in on our days when we feel that work has stopped & it's time for play. The pelicans are our friends now & we are grateful that Viking Kayaks are designed for our Sunshine Coast environment. Also a 10 year warranty is excellent. Viking rocks!!!!

After 12 months use of my first Kayak, a U.S. made 3mtr fishing kayak, I decided it was time for a serious fishing kayak with greater stability. I chose a Viking Profish 45 as it fitted my requirements out of all others available. After a few weeks use and some extreme weather and tides, I can boldly say this was the right decision. The Profish 45 tracks straight, turns well with the rudder system, handles very well and is extremely stable. Everything for fishing is in the correct place; it is just so practical and comfortable for long hours in the seat. I am very confident in the abilities of the Profish 45, as a fishing vessel it has already had positive results. My enjoyment of this recreational sport has just taken on a new dimension thanks to the good sensible advice of Alex at Chermside which has proven invaluable along with his good service.

At this point in time the Profish 45 deserves all the accolades!  I am one very proud owner!

I have just recently purchased the Tempo Fisherman 1, after having had quite an extensive look at what type of kayaks were available on the market. I must say that I am very happy with my new craft. This kayak is very stable in the water and there is lots of room for all my fishing gear and more. It's easy to steer and it's just a really well designed kayak. I have had three outings so far, and returned from my last one with a good catch of flathead and whiting. I would say my rock fishing days are probably over. I would not hesitate to recommend this kayak to anyone.

Been paddling my Tempo Fisherman for over a year and can't say enough good things about the quality, versatility and sheer pleasure it brings me. I get into some magic places, set crab pots in mangroves where tinnies can't go and enjoy peace and tranquility not available to other watercraft. I have a bad back but after buying a gel seat, I find I am well supported in the lumbar region and the exercise has fixed up my core muscles really well. Backup, service and advice from my Chermside dealer is first class. Only one problem- my fault of course - these kayaks are otherwise bullet-proof, but don't drag yours for miles over a hard surface like I did! I think a protective skeg or sacrificial metal strip under the stern would protect this vulnerable part from wearing through if you do need to haul the 'yak across boardwalks, concrete etc. Last and probably least, these are the best looking 'yaks on the market and they draw crowds on the beach!

I've had my Espirt for about a year now and loving every minute of it. Only problem is finding enough time to go for a paddle. Mainly paddling the edges of Moreton Bay and nearby creeks. No fish yet but I'll keep trying. Worth every penny I spent on the kayak and the Kwik Rack.

"I have just purchased the Tempo Fisherman II. My wife & I enjoyed our first outing with it.  We have found it to be an easy & comfortable experience. The optional electric motor came in handing when negotiating the extreme headwinds when we faced our first launch. We can't wait for our next trip & some serious fishing. Thank you Viking for designing such a great craft."

"I had a top time in the Viking Tempo Fisherman chasing sooty grunter and scoring some absolute snodgers. The kayak certainly made flick striking very easy. If anyone has questions of how to use this rig just contact me on the email address sales@coasttocreekmarine.com.au"

Awsome Summer
"Last year I purchased a Tempo Fisherman from you which I use off the rugged Taranaki coast. I fish with 2 friends that use standard Tempo's. I'm just writing to say how impressed I am with my craft and to say thanx for enabling me to enjoy the sport so much. I tested almost every brand & make of kayak available before I bought the Fisherman so I feel qualified in saying its the best in NZ. I find that even though its wide and very stable, I'm often waiting for the others to catch up because its speed is still very good. We all manage to fill our sacks in no time with my biggest Snapper to date being 16lb. A month ago the offshore wind got up and blew us about 3kms out before we had a chance to batten down the hatchs and head in. It was scary because if I stopped paddling I went backwards. It took an hour of hard paddling to get in and all the way I was thanking God that I spent the extra money and got the Fisherman. So thanx again and keep up the good work."

Many Thanx

"I purchased one of your Tempo Fisherman Kayaks just before Easter, WOW I am as impressed with the performance of the Minn Kota as I am with the rest of the craft.  A FANTASTIC PRODUCT."

"I purchased my Viking 'Tempo' in November 2003 on the recommendation of a very close friend of mine who is heavily involved in the fishing industry. I am certainly glad that I took his advice because my Tempo has been a fantastic craft for an estuary fishing fanatic like myself. I take my Tempo out roughly every two weeks and enjoy being out on the water in such a comfortable and stable craft, it really makes kayaking a pleasure. Easy to carry, easy to launch, and great value for money, I don't think you can ask for to much more, Viking you have a real winner here."

Brendan Blyth,

"I use it (Tempo Fisherman) on a regular basis and have found it transports easily. The stability is remarkable. It is comfortable to be in for an extended period and has a safe feeling to it.

A great craft, everyone should have one…"
